Monty Collins is an Amsterdam based Interior Designer whose commissions run the gamut from country houses to city apartments. I am able to work in a broad range of styles, with my overall focus for a project being to create interiors that are a true reflection of the personalities and lifestyles of my clients. In doing so, I feel that a sense of continuity is extremely important in the decoration of a home. To achieve this, I firmly believe that a successful project must be a "team effort" which includes the clients, the designer, the architect, the landscape architect, and the contractor. "Regardless of the style of a project, creating a timeless and enduring interior is very important to me." Before opening my design firm in Atlanta, Georgia in 1985, I worked for various furniture and fabric manufacturers. This experience gave me a solid base of knowledge of resources in the marketplace, which reinforces my love for detail and fine quality materials. I credit my successes with the ability to see the value in mixing traditional and modern elements combined with my innate sense of color and texture. After moving to San Francisco in 1995, I again built a successful interior design business, which has continued to grow on the West coast. I have been involved in several projects as the project coordinator/interior designer. Some of my current projects include the decoration of homes in Seattle, Sun Valley, San Francisco, and Palm Springs. References and a review of previous work are available upon request. |
